See, I know there's going to be a bunch of fellow guitar players out there who want to know all about what kind of equipment I use, which is why I've taken the time to include most of it on this page.
  • Guitars:
'98 Fender American Standard Strat (black) - the only thing stock on this guitar is the body. I put Lindy Fralin PAF humbuckers in, swapped the original maple neck with the rosewood neck from my MIJ '62 RI Strat, and added a black pickguard and chrome knobs.
'02 1961 Reissue Gibson SG (red) - this guitar is completely stock. Nails a Duane Allman or Derek Trucks tone.
'98 Fender Stevie Ray Vaughan Strat (sunburst) - I replaced the original Texas Special pickups with Lindy Fralin Blues Specials. Also, replaced the SRV pickguard with a mint green one from All Parts.
'96 1962 Reissue Strat Made in Japan - swapped the original rosewood neck with the maple neck from the American Standard. Pickups: Lindy Fralin Vintage Hots.
  • Amplifiers:
    '02 Allen Encore 410
    - This is a handbuilt boutique amp made by Fender guru David Allen. It's basically a blackface Super Reverb with a *good* master volume, and a Raw control, which adds a little more preamp-tube distortion. 2 10" Allen speakers, made to his specs by eminence. 2 10" Weber C10Q speakers (for tight low-end response).
1964 Fender Blackface Super Reverb - Wow. All original, except for the speakers. If Heaven were an amp, this would be it. The tone just doesn't get any better. Unfortunately, this particular amp is too loud to use at most of my gigs. Hence its nickname, "The Beast".
1965 Fender Blackface Bassman - head and matching 2x12 cab, loaded with Weber speakers. All original. Sounds great, but lacks some of the depth and dynamics of an amp with a tube rectifier.
  • Pedals:
    Sabine Pedal Tuner
    - true bypass large-display tuner.
Fulltone Fulldrive 2 - special edition yellow. What a great pedal. Wonderful for an Allmans-ish break up. True bypass.
Fulltone Clyde Wah - to my ear, the closest wah pedal to the original Voxes. Wider sweep, though, which is good. True bypass.
  • Recording Gear:
Yamaha AW4416 16-track digital recording studio
    Event PS-6 Studio Monitors
    Boss DR-770 Drum Machine
Shure SM57 - the old standby mic
Squire P-Bass with Jason Lollar pickups for recording.
  • Other:
Strings: Ernie Ball Power Slinkies (11's)
    George L Cables
Fender Heavy picks and Dunlop Jazz 3 picks
